IFTM MISSION STATEMENT
The Institute of theological formation of Montreal (IFTM) of the Sulpician priests is a private university-level educational institution. In communion with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, the Institute offers academic training to people who wish to deepen their knowledge of the Christian faith.
IFTM diplomas are recognized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Government of Quebec.

“The Institute of theological formation of Montreal does not tolerate any behavior that could harm the safety of students, professors, staff members and any other person who is in its establishments and on its premises. It takes all measures deemed reasonable to provide a working and learning environment where there is mutual respect between all members without threats, physical, emotional, or verbal violence, sexual or physical aggression or harassment. ADMISSIONS PROCESS
PREREQUISITES AND PROCESS
1. Prerequisites
To be admitted to the Institute of theological formation of Montreal, it is necessary:
Have a diploma of collegial studies (DEC) from the Quebec Ministry of Education or another equivalent diploma according to the practice of Quebec universities and the judgment of the Director of studies.
2. Admission request
To fill out the admission application form online
Complete the online form with all the required information, attach the supporting documents and pay the admission fee.

To provide required documents
- Provide the following documents for the opening of the academic file:1. A copy of your birth certificate (this will allow you to be assigned a permanent code in case you have never taken post-secondary studies in Quebec.)
- Copies of your college diploma (DEC) and other diplomas you have obtained.
- Academic transcripts of the studies carried out
- Authorization of the superior or the ordinary (seminarists, priests and nuns)
- Recent photo.
Additional documents for foreign students:
- A copy of birth certificate
- A copy of the document confirming your status in Canada:
- The front and back of your Canadian citizenship card or citizenship certificate
- A copy of proof of your Quebec resident status (the front and back of your permanent residence card)
- Copy of study permit (Foreign people who are going to study in Canada)
- Identity document (Passport and identity card from the country of origin)
IMPORTANT
The documents must be uploaded on the admission form. If you do not have all the documents, you can attach the documents that you have on the form and send the other part of the documents later to the email address: registraire@iftm.ca

To complete the admission process, it is necessary to pay the pre-established admission fee. Payment is made through the PayPal platform.
Once you have completed your admission form, click on the “Pay the admission fee” button. Immediately you will be directed to the mentioned platform to make the payment.
Later, your admission form with its annexes will be automatically delivered to the IFTM Registrar’s office.
Please note that the amount of the admission fees is different from the registration fees which correspond to the credits of each program.
You must pay a re-admission fee after not having been registered for 3 terms.
5. Registration
Each student must register for the courses within the deadlines indicated and make the payments.

The student will not be able to present himself for the final evaluation (exam, oral presentation, etc.) at the end of the term, nor receive an official transcript of marks, nor a certificate or diplomas, nor a certificate of participation if all his debts will not have been paid.
Please note that the amount of the admission fees is different from the registration fees which correspond to the credits of each program.
These fees will be determined according to the number of courses and credits you choose and register for each session, as well as the other applicable fees. (See the table with the most frequent common fees at the IFTM).
You will receive a personalized invoice by email with instructions on how to pay it (see the schedule below).
